Tanzanian forward Samatta joins Le Havre on a free transfer

Tanzanian forward Mbwana Ally Samatta has signed a one-year deal with French Ligue 1 side Le Havre AC, arriving as a free agent after his contract expired in July 2025.

A Fresh Start in France

Now 32, the experienced striker will look to revitalize his career in Ligue 1 and build momentum ahead of the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, where he hopes to lead Tanzania’s attack.

Le Havre will benefit from his proven goal-scoring ability, particularly if he can rediscover the form he showed at Belgian Outfit KRC Genk

Market Value Decline: From €12M to €900K

Samatta’s peak market value was €12 million in 2020 during his time at Aston Villa. However, after inconsistent performances in recent years, his value has dropped to €900,000, a significant decline.

Samatta’s European Journey: Key Stats
